Today I facilitated a networking event for job seekers and the pitch I kept hearing over and over again was “I am a (fill in the job title). If you know of anyone looking for someone who needs a (fill in the job title) please let me know.” I guarantee you that whatever your job title is, there are hundreds of people waiting in line behind you with the same job title. Who cares about your job title? What did you achieve in that role? How did you add value to the organizations you supported? How can you help fix a company’s problems?
